Smalltowndubz, a production and dub duo hailing from Lienz, Austria, have been making waves in the dub scene. Their sound can be described as a modern take on steppers, featuring extra deep bass that shakes the dancefloor. They have released on renowned labels such as Dub Communication, Moonshine Recordings and basscomesaveme, garnering critical acclaim for their productions. Aside from their studio work, Small Town Dubz are also known for their event series called Sub Movement, and are involved in Brotha HiFi Sound System.
Jimi Handtrix is a name synonymous with the Berlin bass music scene. As an event organizer, label manager, and DJ, he has been at the forefront of the city’s dub and bass music events for over a decade. In 2017, he launched A Bass Odyssey, a new series of events that aimed to bring larger-scale bookings across the sound system and bass music spectrum to Berlin.
The first festival edition of A Bass Odyssey was a huge success, featuring some of Jimi Handtrix’s own projects and crews, including the launch of his newly-established label Higher Ground Recordings, as well as Serendubity and Dub der guten Hoffnung. Since then, A Bass Odyssey has organized several larger events across Berlin in different locations, inviting renowned artists from across the globe.
As we look forward to we can’t wait to see what Small Town Dubz & Jimi Handtrix have in store for us. So mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable evening with Dub der Guten Hoffnung Sound System at Forum Stadtpark.
