He will present a dub set ranging from its beginning in the 70s moving on to its futuristic developments. Since 2011\, Sun People has been merging Footwork\, Jungle and UK Hardcore Continuum influences to create his own unmistakable sound. DESCRIPTION:  \nDear people!\nSub Movements association returns to Barbariga near the Istrian city Vodnjan for the third edition of Escape the City festival. Last year we challenged ourselves doing for the first time a 4 day festival.\nThat was a pretty much crazy experience as we were faced with the craziest storms of all summer but it didn’t ruin the great vibe of togetherness\, unity and family created in Barbariga! \nThe biggest news this year is the crowdfunding campaign that will start from the 1st of March.\nWe invite all the people that feel like part of ETC family to help us realizing the best sound system festival in the region.\nAs many of you may know\, the big and long lasting festivals such as Seasplash and Outlook left the istrian peninsula\, now it’s our mission to keep the vibe around reggae\, dub and sound system culture alive.\nApart from the sound system culture\, our aim is to gather a large number of families that can enjoy and try new experiences and have a great time (re)connected with nature\, far from the city life! \nThis year we are coming back stronger and smarter than last year!\nReserve your holidays for 24.07 to 26.07.2020 for 3 days of sun\, beach\, loads of workshops and sound system culture! \nEscape the City is conceived as a program where a combination of traditional\, local\, recreational\, art\, entertainment and music elements will be presented with the aim of creating a diverse platform that has its foundations on a strong ecological premise and socially responsive attitudes. \nOne of the main goals of this event is the networking of associations\, organizations and individuals who would jointly develop a strong community based on solidarity\, mutuality\, and friendship. \nThe festival is 100% ecologically conceived. In the last three years\, they played at almost every dub friendly venue and festival in the Alps-Danube-Adria region and are hosting a monthly dub/reggae night in their hometown Pula. Last summer they organizing their own festival called “Escape the City” near Pula\, the infamous gathering combining Ecology\, Art & Soundsystem culture. With over 100+ sessions under their belt they strongly support unity & friendship within the sound system scene\, be it with the Balkan family or Outernational. Musicwise Munchies is mainly influenced by 90’s UK Dub\, extreme echo and bass\, spiritual\, joyful and uplifting sounds\, although you can hear the romantic melodies of late 60’s rocksteady and 80’s rub-a-dub being played from time to time. All the members of Munchies crew & family are also involved with other projects\, be it through music or any other form of activism\, and are trying to make this world a better place. From each according to his ability\, to each according to his needs.
